FOR many years now, Surrey has prided itself with being a popular place for families to move to in an attempt to leave the capital, but still remain a short journey away.

One area in the north-east of Surrey and into Greater London however, has recently been championed as offering “everything a modern family could ask for”, in a recent report by a “highly respected” estate agent.

Park & Bailey has named the areas around the towns of Coulsdon, Warlingham, Caterham and Purley as their “top destinations” for family living, suggesting that this is because these Surrey and Greater London areas provide a “winning combination” of first class education, easy access to London, open countryside and close-knit communities.

The report claims that “many families are turning their attention” to this “unique part” of the south-east as they offer “an ideal setting for raising children and building a balanced lifestyle”, with the additional bonus of a housing market that “offers something for everyone”.

Park & Bailey backs-up these claims by detailing the five main areas which makes these areas so viable for raising a family, the first being educational opportunities, suggesting that in the areas around these four towns and villages, there are “numerous” highly rated independent and state schools with excellent Ofsted reports.

The report specifically highlights Woldingham All-girls School as it is “widely recognised” for its academic excellence.
