Shrimps may exit drop zone with a good Brain operation

Morecambe captain Yann Songo’o believes there is a noticeable change in mood among the squad as they prepare to visit Braintree Town tomorrow.

The clubs meet with the Shrimps knowing a win would see them leapfrog their hosts - and possibly enable them to exit the National League relegation zone altogether.

They are third-bottom, level on points with Braintree, with a two-gap to fifth-bottom Gateshead - who have the same number of points as Sutton United: their weekend opponents.

Morecambe go into this weekend's match after four points from six at home, following up victory over Brackley Town with last weekend's draw against Yeovil Town.
