Owners make first move in restoration of historic house

Extensive repair works to an empty historic property in Winckley Square have been lodged.

What's known as 'Edith Rigby House' stands at 27 Winckley Square and has become a target for anti-social behaviour and vandalism.
London based Twiss - part of Highdorn Co Ltd - has instructed Preston-based Anderton Gables to lodge proposals for College House with Preston City Council.
The grade-II listed building, which was lived in by suffragette Edith Rigby, is in urgent need of repairs.
Proposals include repairs and replacement of the roof, replacing rooflights and chimney repointing.
