Evening in memory of Everett helps fund care for families affected by baby loss
Lancashire Evening Post
|September 02, 2025
A Whittle-le-Woods couple, who lost their precious baby boy Everett at 23 weeks into pregnancy, have raised an incredible £14,275 for mums and babies charity Baby Beat to help it support other local parents affected by baby loss.
Accountants David Ashworth and Beth Heaney organised a fundraising evening in memory of Everett, who was born at the Royal Preston Hospital's Sharoe Green Maternity Unit earlier this year, at Penwortham Golf Club, where Beth's dad is a member.
The evening celebrated Everett by bringing family and friends together to enjoy music, food, games, a raffle and an auction. Beth said: "Through the unit's bereavement services, which receive funding from Baby Beat, we were able to make special memories in the days after Everett's death.
"Whilst our time with Everett was short, it was deeply precious. We will be forever grateful for the time we spent with Everett and for the comfort this has brought us. The impact Everett has had on our lives has been significant and we are determined to see this impact reflected positively in our local community."
