'Christmas can be a very uncertain time for families'

Caroline Taylor, deputy chief executive at Derian House Children's Hospice, said: "As many prepare to celebrate, Christmas can be an uncertain time for families who don't know what the future holds.

"We couldn't go abroad, but Derian House's fully-equipped holiday lodges meant that we could have a week away as a family to relax and make memories.

"When Kacey's older brother, Brody, was struggling with Kacey's illness, he began to visit Derian House's sibling group to spend time with other children in a similar situation to him.
