Funeral Preparations Begin For Ayatollah Khamenei

Iran is preparing to lay its slain Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, to rest in the holy city of Mashhad as the impact of his death continues to reverberate across the world.
According to Iran's semiofficial Fars news agency, Ayatollah Khamenei will be buried in Mashhad in northeastern Iran. Mashhad, in Khorasan province, is the city of his birth, and he will be laid to rest near the revered shrine of Imam Reza, where his father is also buried. Mashhad is among the most important religious centres of Islam and attracts millions of pilgrims each year to the shrine of Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam.
