Grieving family warn inquest 'lessons are not being learned' from Archie's tragic death

THE family of a one-year-old boy who died of a rare heart condition have claimed there were “missed opportunities” during his treatment, an inquest heard this week.

Archie Squire died from heart failure in the early hours of November 23, 2023, just three days after his first birthday.

His parents had made repeated visits to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, with concerns about Archie’s breathing and constipation which did not lead to long-term diagnoses, and he had suffered successive cardiac arrests before his death.

On Monday the inquest into Archie's death, held at Kent and Medway Coroner's Court in Maidstone, heard details of his treatment from his family.
