More cash for communities near eco sites, Energy Secretary vows

ENERGY firms will pay millions of pounds into funds to improve the communities where they build solar and wind farms, the Energy Secretary is set to announce.

Ed Miliband will this week reveal how residents will directly benefit from living near offshore wind or solar farms, with cash boosts due for things such as upgrading football pitches, training programmes and transport links.
