Alleged victim did not show up to give evidence in court

- BY NICOLA DONNELLY

GANGLAND boss Keith Boylan once had a threat-to-kill charge thrown out as his alleged victim failed to show up to give evidence.

The thug - who was recently unmasked in a money laundering court case as the alleged leader of the ruthless Drogheda Boylan Organised Crime Group - was once accused of threatening to murder a close ally of his rival paralysed mob boss Owen Maguire.

However, neither Boylan, 30, or his alleged victim showed up when it came to court, with a solicitor for the Drogheda mobster claiming his own life was under threat.

The senior member of the crime gang in the Co Louth town - that was at the centre of a major Garda investigation into the January 2020 horror murder and dismemberment of tragic teen Keane Mulready-Woods - had taken a hearing date for the case back in 2019.

That meant he was pleading not guilty to the charge of threatening to kill the associate of Owen Maguire.
