Boss out to avoid Greek tragedy & put down marker
Irish Sunday Mirror
|March 23, 2025
STEVE CLARKE has urged his Scotland side to finish off Greece in the Nations League - and strike a psychological blow before a World Cup rematch.

The Scots take a 1-0 lead from Athens into the play-off second-leg at Hampden, after Scott McTominay's winner on Thursday night.
Clarke's team wants a victory to stay in the top tier of the Nations League, where they have been mixing it with Europe's big boys.
But he believes by seeing off Ivan Jovanovic's side, Scotland can assert their authority over the Greeks before facing them in a 2026 World Cup qualifying double-header.
Despite holding a slender advantage, the manager insists he will be going for another win in Glasgow.
