Vote-spoiler logic is load of ballots
-
LADS, isn’t it mad how a job that everybody agrees is really only ceremonial - being President of Ireland - is actually so huge that how it is filled tells us everything we need to know about Ireland?
You even have people who didn't get on the ballot paper - and who only decided to run two weeks before the nominations closed - telling us that we need to change our constitution because they were “denied” the chance to stand.
Yes, “conservative barrister” Maria Steen, Our Lady of the Holy Hermes Handbag, says the fact she only got 18 of the 20 nominations needed is damning proof that Ireland's gone to Holy Hell. And if we don't change our ways and crown her Queen of Ireland we're all going straight to hell.
Now, as with a few others who tried to run, Ms Steen had never actually run for elected office before deciding she fancied the top job in the country.
