Harvey's mum is seeking full public statutory inquiry

THE mum of a boy with spina bifida and scoliosis who died has called for a public statutory inquiry into the care of kids at Children's Health Ireland.

Her plea follows the death in July of her nine-year-old son Harvey Morrison-Sherratt, from Dublin.

Gillian Sherratt spoke out yesterday after meeting Tanaiste Simon Harris and Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill.

It was agreed at the meeting that there be an inquiry into the care of spina bifida and scoliosis patients at CHI.

TERMS

A statement from the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Paediatric Advocacy Group and the Scoliosis Advocacy Network revealed that the inquiry's terms of reference are to be drawn up by parental advocacy groups in collaboration with the Tanaiste and the Department of Health.
