Brady's treble seals sensational double for Athlone
HAT-trick hero Kelly Brady fired her side to a historic double in a thoroughly entertaining Women's FAI Cup final against an excellent Bohemians side who fell just short on the day.
Having fallen behind to an Alannah McEvoy stunner, Brady bagged excellent headers in the first half before notching her third just after the break in front of Ireland manager Carla Ward and assistant Alan Mahon.
Aoibhe Brennan's late strike gave her side hope but they just ran out of road.
With just six minutes on the clock the heavy favourites suffered a shock to the system early on when Hannah Healy nicked the ball off of Hannah Waesch, and the ball eventually found its way to striker McEvoy.
Faced with a wall of blue and black jerseys, she curled in an unstoppable effort from outside the area.
