Talks with US ‘vital' as EU warns it could hit digital giants

THIS weekend will be "vital" for tariff negotiations with the US and there "isn't an hour to lose," Tanaiste Simon Harris has warned.

He made the comments as Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers raised concerns that the ongoing “tit-for-tat” trade war between China and the US could impact Ireland if “things continue to escalate”.

EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic will travel to Washington DC this weekend to hold talks with US officials.

Olof Gill, the European Commission trade spokesperson, told RTE’s Today with Claire Byrne, ‘All options are on the table should that not lead to a good outcome’
