PET NAMES HAVE SNOOKUM & GONE

IRISH Gen Zers are ditching old-fashioned pet names like 'darling' and 'sugar' for personalised nicknames that reflect who they are and their friendships.

According to the research, “sugar”, “snookums” and “treacle” topped the list of outdated pet names, along with “chick”, “muffin”, and “darling”.

It's no surprise that 78 per cent of modern Irish people think that the style of nicknames has changed over the years, with 62 per cent saying that the more traditional nicknames are now outdated.
