West of Ireland is a top Airbnb travel destination this summer

- BY LARISSA NOLAN

PORTUGAL, Spain, America and the west of Ireland are the top travel trends for this summer.

Craic in Clare, tapas in Spain and watching bands in Boston are all in the top ten destinations. Online holiday platform Airbnb has released Irish holidaymakers' travel wishlist, with festivals, food and fun driving the agenda.

Lisbon tops the international list, with Bibao, Rome, Athens and Drubrovnik behind it. At home, Clare, Wexford, Waterford, Limerick and Donegal are in the top five.

More than 70% of Irish people have travelled to a destination specifically because of a unique experience or activity available in the location.
