Questions over why streetcar derailed and killed 16
INVESTIGATORS were continuing to sift through the wreckage of a funicular in central Lisbon, trying to determine why the popular tourist attraction derailed.
Wednesday's accident, during the busy summer season, killed 16 people and injured 21, five of them seriously.
Portugal's attorney-general’s office said eight victims have been identified so far - five Portuguese, two South Koreans and a Swiss person.
