IRISH electronic music legend Christopher Coe is gearing up for a 'live and loud' show in Westport next week as part of Westival.

Westport's much-loved arts festival will return next week for six days of music, film, theatre, and visual art, from Wednesday, to Monday as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Alongside performances from Matt Molloy, Tolu Makay, ZASKA, and Niall McCabe, Christopher - recognised as one of Ireland's most compelling voices in electronic music - will make his long-awaited return to the hometown stage.

Speaking to The Scene ahead of the show, the artist shared how his mother was part of the organising committee of Westival when it was still in its infancy.
