AJAX have apologised to their fans for the 6-0 hammering at the hands of a Troy Parrott inspired AZ Alkmaar.
Parrott struck three times in Wednesday's Dutch Cup rout to help inflict on the Amsterdam giants their heaviest defeat in that competition in almost 100 years.
It took just two minutes for the Ireland striker to open the scoring, he added a second just after the half-hour, and he made it three 10 minutes from time.
