Perfect location and conditions celebrated

HAVE you ever thought how lucky we are to live on such an amazing planet?
Well, now is the perfect time to start. It's Earth Day - an annual celebration of the natural world that started in 1970.
And whatever Elon Musk says, we'd probably struggle to find another globe to call home. Here, MEG JORSH takes a look at what makes the Earth so unique...
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Unlike any other planet in the solar system, the Earth is exactly the right distance from the Sun. Any closer and the water in our seas would evaporate, any further away and it would freeze.
The star - a cozy 92,955,807 miles in the distance - is also conveniently stable. While it does go through an 11-year activity cycle, it's never tried to fry us with an outburst of radiation.
GOOD NEIGHBOURS
The Moon plays an important role in shaping the planet we live on.
