Hoops No.1 Schmeichel is hoping peace breaks out between Celtic board and protesting fans

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

KASPER SCHMEICHEL insists there's nothing quite like the atmosphere at Celtic Park.

This evening, however, at times it will be more like a library.

Schmeichel wasn't going to weigh in to the off-the-field politics around tonight's Europa League clash with Braga, with large sections of the support planning a silent protest against Michael Nicholson (right) and the rest of the Hoops board.

But the great Dane does know what a fully fired up arena can bring - and what it does to opposition.

Schmeichel said: “There's nothing quite like this here. It doesn't really matter where I've played. I haven't really played in atmospheres that are much better than what we generate.

“It exceeded my expectations. I hadn't been in the stadium for a Champions League game or for a European night, but I'd obviously watched them on TV.
