Greaves ready for Ally Pally after dominating women's game

- BY MARK WHILEY

TAKE A BEAU

BEAU GREAVES has done things her way.

Had most darts followers got their wish, Beau ‘n' Arrow would have graced the last two editions of the PDC World Darts Championship instead of dominating the women’s tournament at the WDF Worlds at the Lakeside.

Greaves’ previous appearance at Alexandra Palace saw a defeat to William O'Connor at the 2022-23 event, which came a few months after her maiden WDF title.

After that, the PDC insisted that players, male or female, couldn't play in both World Championships.

It presented Greaves with a dilemma. Despite the clamour for her to return to the sport's biggest stage, the Doncaster thrower picked the Lakeside instead, adding another two women's world crowns.

Greaves felt she wasn't quite ready to return to Ally Pally and was never going to be pressured into doing so.

However, her mindset has completely changed over the past year, adding a new layer of confidence to her armoury.

Her outstanding form on the Development Tour, where she finished second to secure a two-year PDC Tour card, played a significant role in her decision.
