MACCLESFIELD owner Robert Smethurst feels like his side won the FA Cup following their huge third-round upset over Crystal Palace.

With 117 places separating the two teams, the Silkmen stunned their Premier League opponents and trophy holders with a brilliant victory to book their spot in the fourth round.

"It was absolutely incredible, the scenes yesterday were just something I've never experienced in my life," said Smethurst.

"It was just amazing for Macclesfield and I know the lads were partying until three, four o'clock in the morning. There were people dancing in Macclesfield.
