ELLIOTT'S SET TO ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES

GORDON ELLIOTT brings the curtain down on what's been an incredible month for him at Punchestown this afternoon.

The County Meath-based trained (below) has saddled an astonishing 38 winners in the 30 days of this month alone with 18 coming over the four days of Christmas racing at Leopardstown, Limerick and Down Royal.

He's now in a very strong position to secure a first Irish trainers’ title having finished runner-up to Willie Mullins for the last 13seasons and he holds a lead of just under €1 million going into the second-half of the season.

Ellliott is only 30 winners short of his 2024/25 tally of 158 and he'll be hoping the keep the run going at Punchestown this afternoon on the closing day of the year.
