JOANNA Lumley was desperate to work again with her Ab Fab costar Jennifer Saunders - and joked she would kill her if she didn't sign up for Amandaland's festive special.

On Christmas Day, millions will tune in to see the pair reunited on screen for the first time in nine years, with Joanna playing grumpy gran Felicity and Jennifer making a guest appearance as her jolly sister, Amanda’ aunt Joan.

Joanna, 79, said: “I've got to say, when I heard the notion that they were hoping for Jennifer, I actually emailed her and said, ‘If the script comes your way, do it - or I'll kill you’”.
