SHAMROCK Rovers were professional and Galway were gritty as it ended all square at Eamonn Deacy Park yesterday.

The hosts will think they did enough to nick it and had chances in either half for a famous win. Ed McGinty stopped them in the first, the post did in the second.

It has been a difficult time for Galway coming into the game. The club confirmed that Ollie Horgan has stepped back from his role on Saturday.

They had lost four on the bounce too. Stephen Walsh was everywhere as soon as it kicked off. He got Dan Cleary and Adam Matthews booked, picked up a card himself and was just wide with a class volley.
