Court rap on Poll delay jolts Revanth Govt

The Telangana BJP on Wednesday wholeheartedly welcomed the Telangana High Court's directive to the State government to conduct long-pending elections to local bodies within the next three months, calling it a “tight slap on the knuckles" of the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government for its deliberate and undemocratic delay.

Addressing media persons in BJP State office Telangana, the BJP Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N V Subash said the court’s directive reflects the growing public and judicial frustration with the Revanth Reddy government's failure to uphold democratic processes. "This is not just a legal order; it is a clear indictment of the Congress government's inability to face the people, as it has miserably failed on its promises and pushed the State into a deeper financial crisis," Subash said.He alleged that the real reason behind the government's repeated delays in conducting local body polls is its fear of public backlash.
