Stena Immaculate to be towed to Great Yarmouth

SALVAGE OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN UNDERWAY SINCE THE NORTH SEA COLLISION LAST MONTH

THE Stena Immaculate is set to be towed to the Port of Great Yarmouth later this week, the coastguard has said.

Last month, the US tanker was struck by the container ship Solong in the North Sea, around 12 miles off the coast of East Yorkshire. Since the incident on March 10, salvage operations have been underway.

Now, chief coastguard Paddy O’Collghan has released a statement.

He said: “The transfer of cargo from the Stena Immaculate to the Fure VYL has been successfully completed. Preparations are now ongoing to prepare the vessel to enter the Port of Great Yarmouth safely under tow, later this week.”
