STRUCTURE 'NEARING THE END OF ITS SERVICE LIFE'

- By MARK PAGE

THE next step has been taken on plans to demolish and replace a west Hull bridge.

The current Priory Drive footbridge, which crosses the Hull to Scarborough railway line, is "approaching the end of its service life and is showing movement to its foundations," Hull City Council has said.

The authority has now directly appointed Mason Clark Associates, a local engineering consultancy, to move forward with the project. The company will provide contractual support and serve as the technical approver for the council under a three-year arrangement.
