My wife said 'all you did was fall over' - JWH on his 'accidental' KR try

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves chalked up his first try in Hull KR colours and admitted: "It was all an accident!"

The big Kiwi prop almost somersaulted over the line in their Good Friday derby win at Hull FC. He hadn't scored in any of his previous seven games since joining from the NRL and his last try was almost three years ago for Sydney Roosters.

But perfectly rounding off a week in which he announced he would retire at the end of the season, the iconic front-rower crossed after Tom Briscoe spilled Mikey Lewis' hanging kick.

It was the clinching score in the Super League leaders' 28-14 success but Waerea-Hargreaves said: "I spoke to my wife afterwards and she said 'all you did was fall over!'

"I don't score too many. And that was all by accident. It was just in the moment. I'd just got on the field, so I was feeling pretty fresh to kick-chase. The ball ended up in my hands, and it was pretty cool. It was my first for the club. But I'm just happy about the result."
