MP should be protecting the environment

TORY MP Sir Geoffrey Cox is helping foreign investors sue the government over its quashing of the Cumbria coal mine.

Last year, the UK High Court ruled that planning permission for the highly polluting mine in Cumbria had been unlawfully granted by the previous government, as its impact assessment did not account for emissions from burning coal. The Conservatives had touted its role in Britain's energy security, even though its coal's sulphur content meant it couldn't have been used domestically.
