Leave farmland until connection to grid available

ANDREW Blewett either misread or misunderstood my letter of October 1, or both.

The point of the letter was to highlight the length of time connections to the grid were taking, some up to 13 years.

Also why are wind and solar being constructed when they are nowhere near a quick connection to the grid? Either install them near a grid connection or wait until a grid connection is available. Why cover good productive farmland, leave it until there is a connection available, it can only be for monetary gain.

The huge subsidies claimed by the energy companies while they wait for connection to the grid is a waste of taxpayers' money.
