AREA UP AGAINST FINALISTS INCLUDING US, DENMARK AND MORE

- By COREENA FORD

THE Humber region has been named as a finalist in international awards dubbed the World Cup of country branding.

The City Nation Place Awards shine a light on exceptional efforts to put areas on the global stage, recognising efforts made to boost the reputation of destinations worldwide.

Humber's Place Brand has now made the finals at the global annual event, after making the shortlist in the Place Brand of the Year category.

Humber joins a stellar list of famous destinations, going up against fellow finalists including Baltimore in the US, Denmark, Estonia, Jamaica, Sweden, Sheffield and Resita in Romania.

The category celebrates long-term approaches to managing and promoting a place, and the Humber brand has been driven by Future Humber, an initiative created last year to promote the region's identity.

The organisation champions people, place, partnerships, and the planet, sharing powerful stories and showcasing investment opportunities across the Humber.
