Fill your boots!

AR boot season is back in aid of a Hull charity.
The popular car boot run weekly by Dove House Hospice has raised almost £10,000 for the cause through past sales. Now it is set to return and will be taking place every Sunday from May 11 to September 14, 2025.
The car boot sales are hosted by the hospice at its Chamberlain Road site, giving Hull sellers an opportunity to clear out their cupboards and visitors to snap up some bargains. The sale opens for sellers at 8.30am (no exceptions) and pitch fees are taken on arrival, with cars priced at £9 and a van/car + trailer being priced at £13.
Opening to the public at 9.30am, buyers are also able to enjoy the onsite community café, Dulcies, which serves hot drinks, refreshments and breakfast items.
Here are more events for “booters” to enjoy this spring and summer season.
Skirlington Market and Car Boot
New for 2025 is a Saturday “Carboot ‘n’ Flea” at the popular Skirlington Leisure Park, Hornsea Road, Skipsea. Food catering, up to 300 booters, artisan stalls, live music and more are on offer, with the organisers saying: “Expect the same great Skirlington car boot atmosphere, but with a fresh twist.” Cost to sell is from £10 for a car to £15 for a large van. For buyers, entrance is 50p (children under-12 free).
Meanwhile, the traditional large Sunday outdoor and indoor market, plus car boot, that has been running for 38 years, continues to draw the crowds. Skirlington has a bar and cafes, hundreds of stalls and parking for 2,000 cars - it’s also open on Wednesdays during the summer holidays.
