England squad for opening Ashes Test

SHAUN Wane has cut his England squad down to 19 players ahead of the opening Ashes Test with reigning world champions Australia at Wembley, with the biggest hint yet on his starting halfback pairing.

Hull KR treble winner Mikey Lewis has been included alongside England captain George Williams, with Wigan Warriors commander Harry Smith left out of the first squad.
Harry Newman, Joe Burgess, Morgan Smithies and Kallum Watkins have also been cut from the first match day squad, with sold-out Tests ahead in Liverpool and Leeds on November 1 and November 8 respectively.
