Decision on Wane’s future to take weeks

ENGLAND COACH WILL BE LEFT IN LIMBO BY RFL'S REVIEW

SHAUN Wane must wait ‘two to three months’ before discovering if he will be entrusted with leading England at next year's World Cup.

That's the message from the Rugby Football League's top man Nigel Wood, who has stopped short of backing the under-pressure head coach and instead insisted a decision will only be taken after a full internal review.

A review of a first Ashes series since 2003 was always scheduled and Wane has outlined he didn’t expect to know the next steps until that review had concluded, but the initial assessment of RFL supremo Wood may not fill the ex-Wigan Warriors head coach with confidence.

Wane has come under pressure after a Test series which saw England score just two tries across the three matches as the Aussies completed a whitewash.
