PAUL Cooke has called on rugby league to 'make its mind up' with major decisions still to come on the Super League competition for 2026 and beyond.

Super League clubs, with the exception of Hull FC, Hull KR, and Wigan Warriors, all voted to increase the competition from 12 to 14 teams next season.

However, while the top 12 IMG-scored clubs will take the first 12 spots, the final two will be independently chosen at the end of the year.

And now Cooke, who played at both Hull and Rovers during his playing career and who now coaches at Featherstone Rovers, has called for clarity as soon as possible, with the makeup of the competition and terms surrounding promotion and relegation still to be determined.

Both factors are crucial to how clubs, particularly Featherstone, will budget, plan and spend for 2026 and beyond - with Cooke demanding answers now.
