Charity delivers 2,900 Easter eggs to schools

Founders of Doreen's charity Sue and her daughter Ashleigh

HULL-BASED charity Doreen's has once again spread happiness across the local community with its annual Easter campaign, delivering 2,900 Easter eggs to schools throughout the city.

Mother-daughter co-founders Sue and Ashleigh have built the initiative into a much-loved tradition over the past six years, with the aim of ensuring every child in the area enjoys the simple pleasure of an Easter treat.

This year's total represents a near 20 per cent rise on last year’s figure of 2,420 eggs distributed. It has been made possible thanks to backing from Hull City Council, West Carr councillors, retail giant B&M, and fellow local charity the Society of M.I.C.E.
