DRIVERS LEFT BAFFLED BY 30MPH MARKING NEXT TO 20MPH SIGNS
The conflicting signs and road marking.
(Michael Roberts)
SPEED signs have left drivers scratching their heads in an Anglesey town.
Motorists in Amlwch were bemused to find road markings indicating 20mph on one side of the road and 30mph on the other.
Residents say it has led to mass confusion especially as 20mph post signs are in place on the same road.
Unless a different speed limit is indicated by signs, single carriageways have the same speed limit on both sides.
Amlwch's residents have called for immediate clarification from Anglesey Council.
The local authority said speed signs on the A5025 Bull Bay Road into Amlwch are being switched to 30mph following a rethink of 20mph limits.
