Devastating diagnosis for nurse after bout of dizziness
Holyhead, Anglesey and Bangor Mail
|May 07, 2025
An Anglesey nurse who had a spell of dizziness was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Glynwen Jones died 18 months later, aged 67.
Ms Jones had been a medical secretary then became a nurse working with children with learning disabilities. Ms Jones, who loved clothes, coffee and holidays, had a passion for working with children in the community, according to her husband Trefor, 66.
And Trefor, who met his wife of 30 years at a mutual friend’s party in Harrogate, explained it was Glynwen feeling dizzy which prompted her to visit the doctors. He said: “We'd just gone to get an ice cream from Red Boat in Beaumaris and Glynwen stopped when she was about to get out of the car and said: ‘Oh I’m feeling quite dizzy?
“I went to get the ice cream but when I came back to the car I said: “You need to phone the doctors’. She did and she got down to see them the next day and obviously it was a rollercoaster ride from there on in.”
