Action pledge on bridge chaos... but it’s happened AGAIN

THE Welsh Government has pledged to take action after the latest Menai Bridge closures due to overweight vehicles.
-
The bridge has closed multiple times recently in around a week, after vehicles crossed that were too heavy for the historic structure.
It has caused major traffic disruption in the area and on the A55 nearby, with vehicles diverted onto other roads as safety inspections were carried out.
Now Deputy Minister for Transport Mark Hooper has said the Welsh Government is working on plans to solve the issue, with full details to be released at a later date.
Mr Hooper said: “Recent restrictions on the Menai Bridge have been deeply frustrating, particularly during such an important week for Ynys Môn and across Wales with the Urdd Eisteddfod taking place. We reiterate that only vehicles under 7.5 tonnes may use the bridge.
