BANGKOK: Thailand's turbulent politics took a breather on Friday with the selection of the country's third prime minister since 2023, but the developments also hint at further drama ahead.
Anutin Charnvirakul, a conservative politician with royalist credentials, was elected premier in a country that’s seen many predecessors ousted by the courts or in coups. He only secured enough support in a parliamentary vote by agreeing to call a new ballot within months, and will lead a minority government.
