Stone-pelting cannot be our future, says Shah in Kashmir

Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday made an appeal to the youngsters of Kashmir to "pick up pens and laptops" instead of stones to write the script of development of Jammu and Kashmir and the country.
Addressing an event at the Raj Bhavan during his two-day visit to the Union territory, Shah also highlighted the all-round development in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, when the Union government abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution, which accorded special status to the erstwhile state. "I have come to appeal to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir... Stone pelting cannot be our future. Our future can only be by lifting a pen and laptop in our hands and connecting with the development of Jammu and Kashmir and the country," Shah said after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of projects worth ₹500 crore. Calling the youth of the Valley to embrace the change, Shah said those who handed over arms and stones to them are not their well-wishers.
