Search ops stepped up in Poonch after ambush; NIA reaches spot

A team of officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday visited the site of an ambush in Jammu & Kashmir's Poonch district in which four soldiers were killed as security forces stepped up operations to trace the terrorists behind the attack, officers aware of the matter said.
On Thursday, two army vehicles taking personnel of the 48 Rashtriya Rifles (48RR) to nab terrorists in Rajouri district came under attack at a blind curve at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz.
Images and videos taken in the aftermath showed the green army SUV (a Maruti Gypsy) riddled with bullets and its windows shattered, with rifle cartridges and blood visible on the ground. At the time of going to print, the army had not disclosed the identities or ranks of the dead or injured.
