NEW DELHI: The guest list at the London wedding of former solicitor general (SG) Harish Salve sparked a controversy in India after videos of the event showed former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi and meat exporter Moin Qureshi, both being investigated by Indian agencies, among those present.

To be sure, Modi, who is under investigation over alleged moneylaundering charges in India, is not a wanted man in the UK. Qureshi is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Salve was recently named to the committee that will study the modalities of simultaneous state and Lok Sabha elections in India.
