September 25, 2023

The Capital has likely received the last of its monsoon rains and day temperatures are expected to begin rising by the end of the month, India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said on Saturday, predicting the month of September to end with a large deficit in precipitation with no more showers on the horizon for the month.

IMD predicts rise in temperatures, trace rain ahead

As on Saturday, the city recorded 82.7mm of rain in the 24 days of the month, far lower than the 123.44mm that is considered as the normal for the month. In 2022, the Capital received 164.5mm of rains.

"The impact of the monsoon and the latest western disturbance is both weakening. No rain is expected in Delhi now and gradually, day-time temperature will start rising again, touching around 37 degrees by the end of the month," said an official.
