Raghubar Das blames 'foreign religion' behind PESA Act delay

RANCHI: Former Jharkhand chief minister and Odisha governor Raghubar Das, organising a press conference at BJP state headquarters here on Wednesday, alleged the Hemant Soren-led INDIA bloc government of not implementing the PESA Act in the state under the influence of foreign religion.
"When all the legal procedures have been completed, then what is the power that is stopping it from being implemented? Is it not being implemented because the followers of foreign religion are going to be harmed and Sarna religion is going to be benefited? Followers of foreign religion are constantly spreading confusion in this regard. Such people formed a committee and challenged the law from 2010 to 2017," Das said.
Das said the followers of foreign religion did not want the traditional conservative system of the tribal society to progress and were thus hatching a conspiracy to ensure that the PESA Act was not implemented in the state in letter and spirit.
