The Ranchi wing of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has filed a chargesheet against the four arrested accused, including alleged mastermind Shiv Kumar Deura, his son Mohit Deura, Amit Gupta, and Amit Agrawal, alias Vicky Bhalotia, in connection with a ₹730 crore GST scam, officials said on Sunday.
According to the officials, the ED charged the four accused with taking benefits of input tax credit (ITC) worth ₹730 crore in lieu of fake transactions amounting to ₹5,000 crore through 135 shell companies and money laundering, in its prosecution complaint (PC) filed in the special ED court on Saturday.
“A PC has been filed against prime accused Shiv Kumar Deura, his son Mohit Deura, Amit Gupta, and Amit Agrawal, alias Vicky Bhalotia, in the ₹730 crore GST evasion and money laundering case. Assets worth ₹5.50 crore belonging to Shiv Kumar Deura in Kolkata have also been seized,” a senior official privy to the development told HT on Sunday.
