Cong's 'wait and watch politics' over Purnia MP to corner RJD

Days after attending the national convention of the Congress party in Gujarat, confusion continues to surround Pappu Yadav's potential entry into the party, sources said.

However, political observers believe the Congress is deliberately adopting a 'wait and watch' strategy regarding Pappu Yadav, in an attempt to keep pressure on the RJD ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.

His induction into the party appears to be in limbo, with a significant section of Congress leaders opposing the move.

"We are not comfortable with Pappu Yadav in the Congress. He behaves like a dictator, which we cannot tolerate," a senior Congress leader from Purnia told HT, admitting that his induction could prove to be political harakiri for the party in Bihar.
