CM Launches Health Scheme for Advocates

The Hemant Soren government on Saturday launched a cashless health insurance scheme for registered advocates across the state, providing a cover of ₹5 lakh to each practising lawyer and their family members, officials said, adding that it would increase to ₹10 lakh in case of critical illness.

Around 15,000 lawyers affiliated with the Jharkhand Bar Association are expected to benefit under the insurance scheme, which would be implemented jointly by TATA AIG and the Jharkhand State Aarogya Society, officials said.

Additional chief secretary (health) Ajoy Kumar Singh said the beneficiaries would not have to pay the premium to avail of the scheme, as it would be paid by the state government.
